I write to share this op-ed I wrote for my local, The Dorchester Reporter, about my experience hosting a refugee migrant family in December. It was published back on January 11, and I didn’t share it then, because I chose to have it published anonymously. My reasoning was that I wanted to host again, and there are some cruel people out there. Someone I know reached out to the paper asking to be put in touch with me. I had a change of heart — realizing that there might be people considering doing this who have questions. I wanted to be available for that, so asked the paper to add my name today. I’d be happy to answer any questions.
